"...have
a person who is not a member of the family tell a child three times
an hour that they are brilliant and they will become brilliant."
Most of our tuition takes place in the family home. This is, of course, convenient and the familiar surroundings also help the child feel at ease. Within London, a tutor will normally spend a few hours each week with the child, arranged at the family’s convenience. This works well with children who are at day school in London as the necessary relationship is built up over time. If you require hourly tuition but live outside London, you may have to pay a supplementary fee to cover the tutor’s travelling time. If mutually convenient, the tutoring can be continued during the school holidays or increased in the run-up to examinations.
This can be especially beneficial during the long summer vacation where, without the time pressures and exertion of the school day, tremendous progress can be made.
Small boys who hate Latin but love rugby, respond remarkably well to a tutor who is an Oxford rugby Blue and also happens to have a first class degree in Classics.
