Combining the best of both worlds, THE TUTORS GROUP holiday revision programmes are intensive one to one tutorials run our Blythe Hall School in London. If your child needs a boost in the run-up to crucial examinations, we offer revision courses in the Christmas and Easter holidays and half terms and back to school boosters at the end of the Summer holiday.
These courses go over key areas in the syllabus, but also implement THE TUTORS GROUP philosophy to improve your child’s self-confidence, thereby increasing their chance of excelling in examinations. Students work one to one with a variety of individual subject specialists throughout the course. Our Revision Course Tutors are trained to quickly identify syllabus problem areas (needs analysis) and adapt every lesson to the students’ specific needs.
The courses offer:
• Focus on core cognitive skills (such as memory, processing speed, logic and language);
• Focus on key exam skills (such as time management, revision skills and subject specific skills and tricks);
• Confidence boosting sessions (both exam and lesson based);
• Interview technique (filmed one to one sessions).
The Revision Course Tutors are our most experienced and successful. On the Revision Course we have developed an approach designed to achieve the most from your child in the limited time the student is with us. The atmosphere of fast, fresh and intelligent support and co-operation is designed to empower students and increase their confidence in their own abilities whilst fixing problems and revising old material in exciting new ways. We use tutors who specialise not just in one subject, but in a range of subjects which all share the same base disciplines. This means that the tutor can take a student’s skill set, develop and improve it, and then show them how to apply the same skills in a range of different areas.
This actually means they have to learn less but achieve a lot more. It is quality, not quantity that we focus on. Generally we have Humanities tutors (English, history, religious studies, geography), science and maths tutors and language tutors.
THE TUTORS GROUP has a full reference library of all past papers and syllabuses which are used to practise, perfect and gain confidence in the specific subjects and boards the students will be sitting. As well as theoretical examination technique, we also have an examination room which we use to help students get used to the often intimidating ritual of exam taking.
